Day trip to Little Trout Lake in Algonquin
Yesterday I took a little day trip into Algonquin Park with my daughter, Juliana, and our dog, Rusty, to meet up with my wife and other daughter, Jaclyn. The sun was warm, the water calm and the paddling was enjoyable, even the portaging was easy going being so lightly packed and with a new Swift Kipawa Kevlar canoe that weighs just 42lbs.
We covered about 20km from the Magnetawan Access Point, crossing Hambone Lake and Ralph Bice Lake, ending at Little Trout Lake and then back out again all in the same day. Not an endurance paddle but some good distance covered, just for the fun of it, in one day. Often when planning a canoe trip we suggest that 10-20km is a good distance to cover each day depending on your skill and experience level.

Thankfully it's fully waterproof as I dropped it in the water 3 times.. Note to self, always remember to tie a string to your GoPro as they don't float.
"Sunny Days" Photo Contest:
